What happens in a class
Parent and Tot is open play, with a coach there to support you. Coaches set up stations around the gym for climbing, jumping, balancing and rolling, and you move through them together at your toddler’s pace.
- Movement first. Toddlers build body awareness, balance and coordination: learning where their body is in space, which is the foundation for every sport later on.
- A first taste of tumbling and cheer. For little ones who are ready, coaches guide early skills like front rolls and barrel rolls.
- Together. You’re on the floor with your child, so it’s 45 minutes of play you share, not a class you watch from the side.
Looking for toddler gymnastics in Collingwood?
Parent and Tot covers the same early movement skills parents look for in a toddler gymnastics class: rolling, jumping, climbing and balancing on proper mats and equipment, with a coach on hand. It’s $15 a class, whether you register for a session or drop in on a Tuesday, and there’s nothing extra to buy.
Kids who love it can keep going as they grow. From age 4, FUNdamentals builds on the same tumbling and movement skills in a class of their own.
Sunday or Tuesday?
- Pick the day that fits your week, then register for the session. It saves your spot for every class, and the Sunday classes are our busiest, so register early.
- Tuesdays also take drop-ins. If your weeks are unpredictable, you can pay $15 for a single Tuesday class instead of the session.
Either way, it works out to $15 a class.
How to compare parent and tot classes
Prices for toddler classes vary a lot. Before you register anywhere, it’s worth asking:
- What does it cost per class? Divide the session price by the number of classes. Ours is $90 ÷ 6 = $15 on Sundays, and $105 ÷ 7 = $15 on Tuesdays.
- Is the space built for little bodies? Soft mats and equipment designed for tumbling make it easy to say yes to climbing and rolling.
- What do you need to buy? At CheerCore, all you need is comfortable clothes, indoor shoes and a water bottle.
What to bring
- Comfortable athletic clothes for both of you: t-shirt, shorts or yoga pants.
- Indoor running shoes.
- A full reusable water bottle.
- A positive attitude and a big smile.
Good to know
- Please don’t arrive more than five minutes before class starts.
- One parent per tot on the floor. Other family members are welcome to watch from the mezzanine.
