Elite Cheer

Athletes 8–18+ years oldAdvanced4.5 hours/week over 2 days

Elite Cheer is a full-season competitive program for athletes who are ready to make cheer a priority. Teams train for 4.5 hours over two days each week and attend six to seven competitions per season. Athletes develop their tumbling, stunts, jumps and choreography through deliberate progressions, focused coaching and consistent training.

Elite is built on high expectations, high accountability and high support. Athletes are expected to arrive prepared, work with purpose and show up for their team. In return, they’re supported by coaches and teammates who are equally invested in their growth. International travel opportunities may also be available through a separate travel-team assessment.

Elite Cheer is perfect for athletes who…

My child loves everything to do with competition day.

Elite gives athletes a full season of moments to work towards. With six to seven competitions, they have repeated opportunities to step onto the floor, test themselves under pressure and return to the gym hungry to make their next performance even stronger.

Your Questions, Answered

Is there a tryout?
Yes, Elite team placement begins with a tryout or assessment. Contact the gym by emailing team@cheercorejags.ca to arrange an individual assessment. Athletes attend assessments and level practices before coaches confirm the best placement for them. Once your athlete receives their placement, you can register for the season.
What tumbling is required?
As a general rule, athletes must be able to perform the tumbling skills required for the level of their team. For example, Level 1 tumbling is required for placement on an Elite Level 1 team. Tumbling is one part of a larger team-building formula. Coaches consider each athlete’s overall skills, readiness and potential contribution, then place them where they can strengthen the team and be successful within it.
How much travel is involved?
Our regular Elite season includes six to seven competitions within a three-hour drive. International travel is a separate opportunity with an additional travel-team assessment, depending on the teams offered and the athlete’s age and level.
How often do Elite teams train?
Elite teams train twice a week for 4.5 hours total. Athletes may also choose additional training through tumbling intensives, private lessons and open gyms to support their individual skill development.
How important is attendance?
Attendance is mandatory. Stunt groups, formations and choreography depend on every athlete being present and prepared. Elite athletes are expected to prioritize team practices and competitions because their absence directly affects what the rest of the team can accomplish.
What is included in the season fees?
Elite uses all-inclusive season pricing. Costs such as competition entries, choreography and required team items are outlined before registration, then divided into consistent monthly payments. Uniform requirements and costs are also provided so families can understand the full financial commitment before accepting a placement.
How many coaches work with each team?
Most Elite teams have two to three coaches working with approximately 12 to 25 athletes. This allows coaches to support the full routine while giving stunt groups and individual athletes focused instruction throughout practice.
